Delight Station Privacy Policy

Delight Station LLC, referred to in this policy as “Delight Station,” “we,” “us,” or “our,” operates delightstation.us and the related pages and services through which people learn about, purchase, and use Delight Station.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and the choices available to you.

1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

We may collect information you provide when you:

  1. Create or manage an account.

  2. Purchase or renew a membership.

  3. Contact us with a question or request.

  4. Subscribe to email communications.

  5. Respond to a survey or provide feedback.

  6. Request information about using Delight Station through a family, provider, school, program, or other organization.

This information may include your name, email address, account information, membership status, billing address, transaction details, organization, job title, communications with us, and any other information you choose to provide.

Please do not send medical records, diagnoses, or other sensitive health information unless it is necessary for us to respond to a request. Delight Station is not a healthcare provider, and our website is not intended to store protected health information.

Payment Information

Squarespace and its payment providers process payments for Delight Station. We do not receive or store your complete payment card number.

We may receive limited information about a transaction, such as the purchaser’s name, email address, billing address, amount paid, payment status, subscription status, and limited payment method details.

Website and Usage Information

We use a self-hosted installation of Umami to understand how people use our website. Umami does not use analytics cookies in our current configuration.

Umami may collect or generate information such as:

  1. Pages visited.

  2. Referring pages or websites.

  3. Visit times and duration.

  4. Browser, operating system, device type, language, and screen size.

  5. Approximate country, region, or city.

  6. Website performance information.

  7. Interactions with website features.

  8. Video starts, playback milestones, and completions.

Umami creates pseudonymous session records from technical information. We may also intentionally assign a coded identifier to a session as described below. We do not place a person’s name or email address directly into Umami.

Outreach and Individually Coded Links

We may contact organizations and professionals who we believe may be interested in Delight Station or may wish to share it with their communities.

For this outreach, we may use professional contact information obtained from public websites, organizational directories, professional listings, referrals, prior correspondence, or information provided directly to us.

We use a self-hosted installation of SubsiMail to organize and send outreach emails. SubsiMail may record whether an email was delivered, bounced, opened, clicked, answered, or unsubscribed.

Some outreach emails contain a link with a coded identifier. If the recipient clicks that link, we may associate the identifier with activity recorded by Umami, including pages visited and video playback milestones. We maintain a separate contact record that allows us to determine which recipient was originally assigned the identifier.

We use this information to understand whether our outreach is useful, evaluate interest in Delight Station, improve our communications, and decide whether a personal follow-up may be appropriate. We do not use it to make decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on a person.

If someone forwards an individually coded link, activity performed through that link may be attributed to the person who originally received it. The identifier tells us which link was used. It does not prove who was using the device.

You may ask us to stop contacting you or to disconnect your coded identifier from your contact record by emailing us at ben@delightstation.us.

Vimeo Videos

We use Vimeo to host and display videos.

When a Vimeo video loads or plays, Vimeo may receive technical and video usage information, including an IP address, approximate location, device and browser information, referring page, and information about how the Vimeo player is used. Vimeo may use cookies and similar technologies in accordance with its policies.

Delight Station receives aggregate video analytics from Vimeo. Vimeo does not provide us with the identity of individual Vimeo viewers.

Separately, our own Umami implementation may record video starts and playback milestones occurring on our website. If someone arrived through an individually coded outreach link, those events may be associated with that coded identifier as described above.

Communications

If you contact us, we may retain the message, your contact information, and our response. This may include customer support questions, membership requests, feedback, and other correspondence.

2. How We Use Information

We may use information to:

  1. Provide and maintain Delight Station.

  2. Create and manage accounts and memberships.

  3. Process payments and subscription renewals.

  4. Respond to questions and provide customer support.

  5. Send transactional messages about accounts, payments, renewals, or changes to the service.

  6. Send marketing or outreach communications where permitted.

  7. Understand how visitors use the website and videos.

  8. Improve our content, website, communications, and services.

  9. Detect misuse, fraud, technical problems, or security threats.

  10. Maintain business, tax, transaction, and legal records.

  11. Enforce our Terms of Use and protect our legal rights.

  12. Comply with applicable laws and lawful government requests.

3. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Umami does not use analytics cookies in our current configuration.

Squarespace may use cookies or similar technologies that are necessary to operate, secure, and process transactions on the website.

Vimeo may use cookies or similar technologies when its video player loads or plays. Vimeo controls those technologies under its own policies.

We do not currently use Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, advertising pixels, or cross-site behavioral advertising.

You can configure your browser to block or delete cookies. Blocking certain cookies may prevent some website, account, payment, or video features from working properly.

4. How We Disclose Information

We may disclose information to service providers that help us operate Delight Station, including:

  1. Squarespace and its payment providers for website hosting, memberships, transactions, and payments.

  2. Vimeo for video hosting and playback.

  3. SubsiMail and our email provider for email delivery and campaign management.

  4. The infrastructure providers that host our self-managed Umami and SubsiMail installations.

  5. Professional advisers, such as accountants, attorneys, insurers, or technical consultants, when reasonably necessary.

We may also disclose information:

  1. When required by law, subpoena, court order, or lawful government request.

  2. When reasonably necessary to prevent fraud, misuse, security incidents, or harm.

  3. To enforce our agreements or protect the rights and safety of Delight Station, our users, or others.

  4. As part of a merger, financing, sale, reorganization, or transfer of some or all of our business, subject to appropriate protections.

  5. At your direction or with your permission.

We do not sell or rent personal information. We do not disclose personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising.

We may use and disclose information that has been aggregated or de-identified so that it cannot reasonably be associated with an individual.

5. Data Retention

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy.

Account and membership information may be retained while an account is active and afterward when needed for transaction records, tax requirements, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, or other legal obligations.

Communications may be retained as needed to respond to requests and maintain appropriate business records.

Outreach contact information may be retained while we reasonably believe the contact may be relevant to our outreach. We will retain the information necessary to honor an unsubscribe or do-not-contact request.

Coded campaign identifiers and related analytics are retained only while useful for evaluating campaigns, improving our communications, and conducting reasonable follow-up. We may later delete the information or disconnect the identifier from the contact record.

Self-hosted analytics data may remain in our systems until we delete or aggregate it.

6. Your Choices and Privacy Rights

You may unsubscribe from marketing or outreach emails by using the unsubscribe link in the message or by contacting us.

Transactional emails relating to an active account, payment, subscription, security issue, or requested service may still be sent when necessary.

Depending on where you live and the laws that apply, you may have the right to:

  1. Ask whether we have personal information about you.

  2. Request access to that information.

  3. Request correction of inaccurate information.

  4. Request deletion of certain information.

  5. Object to or request restriction of certain uses.

  6. Request a portable copy of certain information.

  7. Withdraw consent when processing is based on consent.

  8. Appeal a decision concerning a privacy request.

We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request. Some information may be retained when required for transactions, legal compliance, security, fraud prevention, or the establishment or defense of legal claims.

To make a request, email ben@delightstation.us. We will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.

Because we do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising, we do not offer a separate sale or targeted advertising opt-out.

7. Children’s Privacy

Membership accounts must be created and managed by an adult.

Delight Station content may be viewed by children under the supervision of a parent, guardian, caregiver, educator, or other responsible adult. We do not knowingly ask children under 13 to create accounts or provide personal information directly to us.

If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to us without appropriate parental authorization, contact us at ben@delightstation.us so that we can review and remove the information as appropriate.

8. Information About Other People

If you provide information about another person, you are responsible for having the authority or permission necessary to provide it.

Please avoid including unnecessary medical, diagnostic, financial, or other sensitive information about participants in emails, support requests, or feedback.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect information under our control.

No website, email system, transmission method, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You are responsible for protecting your password and notifying us if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.

10. International Visitors

Delight Station is based in the United States. If you access the service from another country, information may be transferred to, stored in, or processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate.

Those countries may have privacy laws that differ from the laws where you live.

11. Third-Party Websites and Services

Our website may contain links to services that Delight Station does not operate. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.

This Privacy Policy applies only to information collected or controlled by Delight Station.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as our services, technology, or legal obligations change.

We will post the updated policy on our website and change the effective date above. If a change materially affects how we use information already collected, we will provide additional notice when reasonably appropriate.
